Manson Fridge Magnets Make Great Gifts
Marilyn Manson Fridge Magnets communicate their message in a very unique way. These magnets are not only designed with the Marilyn Manson 'Logo" design motif, but they also contain a range of fun messages.
One of the most well-known images from this album is Omega's front cover with his prosthetic breasts, genitalia and covered in latex paint. marilynmansonmerch is identical to the one used in Blow. According to some rumours, Johnny Depp actually bought the exact same prosthetic breasts.
A notable image in this album is the "Mechanical Animals" logo. It features the number 15, squared, over Omega's head. This isn't an accident, it is a reference at the Columbine High School shooting of 1999.
The album itself explores Manson's concept Alpha, an alien character, and Omega, his alter ego Omega. They are both lost in a confusing world. Omega suffers from a drug addiction that makes him numb and unable feel any emotion.
The album contains seven songs that tell Omega's side. These songs were both written by Manson and Joseph Cultice (his long-time band mate). Cultice's vocals sound like a gentle crooner and he blends his narrator voice into a style that sounds almost like Manson.
Manson adopts a much more positive stance on this album than in his previous works. He still uses his blasphemous image as well as obscene words, but this album has lighter imagery and a lighter tone. The music is heavily inspired from 1970s style, Bowie-esque Glam Rock and most lyrics are more positive that his previous work.
However, there are some darker moments on the album, particularly in the title track. This song is about feelings of despair and feeling emotions. It also features the lyrics "I am a numbing addict, I am an alien."
These are only a few examples from the many themes running through the album. But it's clear that this isn't a normal pop record. This is the beginning of an exciting new phase for Manson.
Manson used lyrics that not only addressed his own abuse and sexual exploits but also the lives of his family members and girlfriends. It was his first attempt at this, and his fans responded by selling the album well.
Although the album was a great success, it also came with a heavy price. Manson's reputation for abuse and the rabid fan following he had created in the music industry were both very sensitive. His performances were not as he wanted them to be and he had to cancel shows. This resulted in him losing income.
